September was another busy month for CIAC. Our Grade 5 Men’s team had a fantastic win in the Summer Cup Final in Rushbrooke in Cork. The team was made up of John Conde, Thamir Mahgoub, Suhail Parvez Mirji & Bharath Senthivinayagam. There was excellent travelling support on the day in Cork. Well done guys.
On the club front, our Club Championships ran from the 21st to the 27th of September. Reflecting the growth in the club over the last number of years it was our highest entry ever. We were lucky to experience the last of the summer wind in Limerick and the sun shone over the courts for the week. The BBQ was even fired up on Friday and Saturday with Piotr serving delicious burgers and hot dogs. A special thank you to the Greenyard Café for sponsoring the event. No doubt the winners will be visiting the Greenyard over the next few weeks. Seán MacSweeney deserves extra credit for scheduling the whole event and meeting the individual requests of the players.
Junior coaching is currently underway under the supervision of Head Coach Sinead Dunne, and we also have beginners try tennis nights and improver’s coaching taking place.
