It has been a busy summer for CIAC club members who have been competing in Opens throughout Munster and further afield.
The past weekend we had real success in the Munster Clay Court Championships with Mathieu Cabaud winning the MS1 and the XD1 finals. Congratulations Mathieu. Mila Kovalenko reached the WS1 and just fell short in a championship tiebreak. Siobhan Culhane put in a fantastic performance to reach the final of Ws6, her first singles final. Siobhan finished as runner up but no doubt many more finals to come.
In the Summer Cup the Grade 5 men’s team won their quarter final versus our neighbours Limerick Lawn Tennis Club to reach the semi-final. A strong team made up of Suhail Miriji Parvez (Captain), John Conde, Bharath Senthivinayagam and Thamir Mahgoub.
In other club news the hockey club are running a draw for 10K. This fundraiser for a new hockey pitch. Limited to 999 tickets this draw is a fantastic opportunity to win some €10,000 in cash and to support the club. https://pallaslotteries.ie/product/ciac999/
The Carelon Limerick Doubles Open starts the 22nd of August and it is a record breaking entry. Please contact the committee if you are available to volunteer in any capacity.
